I was going through and older NAFC magazine and saw a quote that someone had said, and I really enjoy the quote.

It read:
"If everyone in the world were a fishermen, there would be no time for war."

I found this to be pretty cool.

Just wondering what some of your favoites were.

A few weeks ago we were out on a small lake, when a drunk came out on the ice with his truck with only 4 inches of ice. Got about 250 yards out on the ice and truck died. All at once we herd the crack and the truck went to the bottom. About 15 feet under water. The drunk got out and was OK. Drunk told DNR officer well I new truck would stay up as long as i keep moving but I guess I had less gas in the truck then I thought. DNR officer looked at him then at us and and back at him and told him ( "Dumb in the morning, Dumb all day long")
we just about died LoL.

Bad thing is truck is still in this small lake and polluting it more and more.

I was once watching Al Linder on some fishing show and he was talking about some kind of hook he was promoting and speaking to the sharpness of this particular hook and this is what he said...(in his Minnesota accent)..."Ninety percent of the time you'll have a one hundred percent hook rate." hmmmm..does that mean you will catch a fish 90% of the time???

There are alot of good quotes out there and so many are funny when in the right text but here are two of my favorites.
"That's why they call it fishing and not Catching"

This is the one that gets me out on the water when someone (wife) says I should do other things (chores).

I remember a woman at a fishing seminar that kept complaining about how cruel it is to stick a hook through a minnow's head to use it for bait. She kept saying that it kills the minnow. Finally, one of the guys putting on the seminar said "Lady I don't hook the minnow through the head. I hook em through the eyes. It doesn't kill em, it blinds em and after that I lead them wherever they need to go.". I don't know if she was there to cause trouble or not, but she got so angry that she walked out in the middle of the applause.

i worked with a guy who was from egypt and he liked to fish so we were going and the bait shop owner is looking at him funny and he had a accent that was hard to understand with his deep voice and being all bundled up the bait shop owner asked me if he had ever gone ice fishing before and my answer was "oh yeah he was the captain of the egyptian ice fishing team for ten years running" that guy had no clue what to do or say when we got to the truck we burst out laughing.

I've done that with tremendous results. You just have to have the will to do it. I've blared right by people picking fish and found motherloads of fish nearby.
wich reminds me of what I used to say : "the fish are where you find them" and "you can't catch 'em unless you are over them"

So when you guys see swiss cheese made of the ice, one set of tracks and blood on the ice it was probably me.
