You are a man on a mission thank you for all the photographs. The weather has been good and your progress great for a one man crew. I have another question it appears there are notches cut out on the gable rafters what is the purpose of these notches.

Steve, those notches are for the outriggers. They connect the fly rafter to the roof to create the eve's overhang on the gable ends of the building.

Nope, going to get it done over the next couple of weekends.
Hope to have the rafters up by the time I leave here today.

Got the rest of the rafters up!!!
Now that my vacation has come to an end here are the totals.
Lost 43#'s and gained a cabin!!!!!

The only bummer is that now we have to wait for the weekends to get our fix of cabin porn!!! You've done a great job! I, along with the rest of the members, can't wait to follow the build along as it goes!!

One of the bad things about vacations they eventually end. Many would say you had a working vacation given all you accomplished Drifter. You may feel different knowing your labor was going into building a place where you hope to make many memories enjoying the outdoors.

Got the gable ends all framed up this weekend and I also got my rig to get the sheathing up on my roof about 2/3's finished.
Next weekend I should be able to start sheathing the roof.
