Eskimo Auger
« on: Nov 24, 2011, 06:32 PM »
So I am currently in the market for a gas auger and I was originally planning on a jiffy model 30 (new edition). The only downfall to that is it spins counter clockwise which would trouble me if I ever wanted to experiment with a different bit but on another note I found some sweet deals on Eskimos. I was aiming towards the z71 but decided that 10" is too much but would love the extra power. I could get the z51 no questions asked but was thinking....... I have an 8" mora that isn't bad for a hand auger IMO and was wondering if I would be able to put that on the z71 powerhead and if so what would I have to do?

I would worry about the z71's power on that weak style of auger.

You might check and see if you can get it with the 8" bit. Can't hurt to ask. I know a lot of the Z51 came with either 8 or 10". Maybe ask the store you get it from if the Z51 has the 8" I have the Z51 and love it. I do have the 10" bit though.
