Still have a bunch!!!! ;D
Starting to get pretty rotten though.
Small lakes are either open or mostly open.

Big lakes not so much!!!
Nothing some warm weather and a bit of wind won't fix though.

Wow, that looks inviting, I wish our ice lasted this long! :woot:
IW

Thank you for the photographs Drifter. The ice shown in the bottom photo looks dicey one wrong step and you are swimming.
Steve
-
Just more proof that I should be living a lot further North than what I do. LOL
-
Our lake is breaking up today from what I can tell. It looks like there is still ice out in the main lake but that should go in a day or 2. I'm ready to get out and chase lakers again.
-
When you get get first ice Drifter?
Thanks for the look, you live in a beautiful place
-
Great pictures Drifter, thanks for sharing! Amazing how long the ice has remained...2 questions...how much ice did you actually have on the lake this year and what is the latest date you've ever ice fished? Thanks again...

First ice is usually late October.

Have no idea how much we got this year as I haven't been out since the second week of January. :-\
Depending on the lake and snow cover we usually get 4-5 feet of ice.
Have ice fished into about mid May before. :D
-
Awesome! Hope your build is going well Sir!
-
Yellowknife beat out Whitehorse this year. I was casting off shore at my cabin on the 16th of May, with the receding ice to the north. Lake Laberge looked more like your photo 1 than your photo 2 that day. Have fun with your cabin build!
-
I've got some open water to fish!!! ;D
Probably take the kayak out tomorrow for a little fun. ;)
-
Lost quite a bit of ice since last weekend. There is now about a mile of open water on the lake my cabin is on.
Last week only the small bay that the launch is in was open. Got out in the yak for a little laker trolling yesterday.
Unfortunately I didn't catch any but it was good to be out on water that was not solid again. :D

Glad you got some open water Dave...
How long till you can get to camp?

Nice reel. 5001C I believe...You should have open water by Canada Day...h2l
6001C actually. ;D
I had 2 5001C's until January when a big pike stole my rod and reel combo while ice fishing now I only have one. :(
-
Glad you got some open water Dave...
How long till you can get to camp?
I'm hoping for 2 weeks.
-
Sweet.. Cant wait to see pictures.... :) :)
-
Looks very inviting Drifter..........Enjoy your summer & keep the pics coming !!
-
We all think there is no other place we'd like to be than our own home place, but you sir have a great spot to have your camp.
I wish you the best up there and I am jealous of your location. I can't wait to see the pictures in progress as you build.
IW
-
Right!!!
Here's a bunch of camp pics fer y'all.
Been busy here the last couple of weeks.
Had to relocate the shore side dock attachments as we lost 2 feet of water over the winter. :(
Also had to build a temporary shelter to keep the bugs out, rain and sun off.
(https://scontent-sjc2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtf1/v/t1.0-9/11665603_1178939918799012_5159430640081006964_n.jpg?oh=09e7038e3a4a78a699a18fda2869cb52&oe=5613F84E)
Had to drill the rock for my pier saddles.
And install a bunch of piers.

Now you're up to data on the cabin building saga!! ;D
-
Awesome Drifter! Curious how difficult it was to drill those piers. Looks like a TE 72 and I know those will get after it but a good chunk of " living" granite can humble a guy. Thanks for the update. You are a rock star sir!
-
thank you for posting the cabin build photos . It appears you are making good progress with the build. In other news concerning your area I see the second season of the television show "Ice Lake Rebels " is starting later this month.

Thanks for the pictures Drifter...looking great!

WOO HOO! Looking great Drifter! Cabin my ass, that's a house! You are living the dream man @)
-
Wow Dave that look just increadable. Also looks like a lot of work but well worth it....
Thanks for taking the time to post some pictures....
PS
I would have been just happy with your temporary shelter.... ;D ;D ;D
-
Those pictures are what I have been waiting for.
Building those bottom walls from the top down must be challenging. Also getting the tops of the piers level would be another one.

It was actually a TE80.
Took about 15 mins per hole only because it was at the max of my little 2KW genny.
If I worked it too hard it overloaded.
I used a TE70 when I did my dock and it worked much better with my generator and didn't over load it.
Unfortunately it was already rented out when I needed to drill my holes.

Actually getting the pier tops level was quite easy.
I used 3000 year old technology to do the trick.
Those Egyptians knew a thing or two about building old school!!!
I built myself a 100' long water level. Then I picked the corner I wanted to work from @ the height I wanted at that corner and used the level to figure out the height of the rest of the piers.
In this pic you can see it running between the back left corner and closest story pole to the camera.

Man, I have not thought about a water level in ages. Only used one a couple of times. I need to make one to get the floor level on the tower hunting blind I need to get built before fall.
-
After pretty much getting rained out all day yesterday I gave it my all today and finished the floor joists and roughed in my double doors for crawl space access.

Didn't get any floor stuff done today.
Back is killing from the last couple of days and it's blowing a gale here.
Didn't want to be handling 75# sheets of OSB sub flooring and get blown off the structure.
So I finished putting in my nailing blocks for the ends of the ceiling panels below and started sheathing the crawl space walls. Will try to finish it tomorrow but they are calling for rain all day.

They were doing a back burn on Harding Lake today as well. This was to choke off the South flank of the Hearn Lake fire.

Drifter you are making great progress on the build. Just curious is the cabin for year round or just spring/summer time use I realize it maybe difficult getting there in the winter. If the cabin is for year round usage how much insulation did you put into the floor?
Steve
-
Good looking pictures Drifter, you are making great progress. I hope you have lots of help withe the build.
IW

Man, are you doing this all by yourself?
To do all that in an urban setting or somewhere that isnt off the beaten path is one thing, but where you're at adds a whole new facet of difficulty.. Kudos to you!
Looks awesome and keep up the good work

That's incredible! Excellent work so far! Can't wait to see more

Steve
It is a year round cabin MrC.
Access in the winter is by snowmobile early on and then ice road when the power corp plows it, usually in early February.
Haven't done the sub floor or insulation yet, but I will be putting in around R35-R40. There are 3" of styrofoam SM and that will be capped off with fiberglass. Then the sub floor will go down.

No help, this is all my doing. @)
My neighbour will be coming out to measure for my custom windows this winter so I can get them ordered and out to the site before break up next spring. He is also going to help install them.
Nice to have friends in businesses like that.
Custom windows @ cost + free installation.

Thank you for the reply ,most house here in south eastern New York only have R-19 insulation. What are your plans for heating the structure ? I wish you all the best with this build your knowledge and skills surpass mine when it comes to carpentry and general construction.
Steve
-
Wow drifter, that is a lot of work to do by yourself, I've done a lot of building myself but not by myself. That's a big chore
doing it alone. Good luck with it.

Steve
Most people heat with wood around here.
I'm not going to be one of them. :D
I don't want to have to get up to a cold cabin after the logs burn down during the night.
Sooooooo, I'm going with a Wiseway Garvity Feed Pellet Stove. The only pellet stove on the market that doesn't use electricity to feed the pellets.
My buddy in Alaska put one in his mom's cabin and it works awesome. Fill up the hopper and you get a full day of heat without having to worry about re stoking several times a day.
My friends mom is using about 1.25 bags of pellets a day to heat her place and she keeps it tropical in there. ;)

Yep, sure is a lot of work.
But combining all this work with my diet has me down 26#'s in 3 weeks. :D

Interesting stove design, one question can you lite/start the stove without using a torch. I'm just thinking there maybe a time when your torch does not work for some reason and you need a fire.
Steve
-
Sure is interesting, I've never seen such a thing, I hope it works out for you.
IW

That is indeed an interesting pellet stove design. Great job with your build Drifter, its the Yellow Knife Weight Loss program!

After a couple of days off it was back at er today.
Got the rest of my sheathing done on the crawl space walls and started getting the floor down and insulated. 3" Styrofoam SM for the first layer and 2 layers of R15 fiberglass on top for a total of R45 in the floor. Should have toasty tootsies. ;D

-
Looking good Drifter, one question are you putting plastic to cover sub floor to keep the insulation dry?
IW
-
Drifter you are doing a great job. You will have a pretty warm floor but a thermal break either on the bottom or top of the floor joists is important to stop the transmission of cold from outside to inside, insulation on the bottom would be better. Each floor joist will act as a conductor to transmit cold from outside to inside. By running a continuous layer of rigid insulation under the floor joists you break that transmission so essentially all of the floor assembly is then on the heated side of the insulation.
I would also tape or caulk the joints in the floor sheathing to stop draft. Air sealing is an important element in the thermal envelope of the structure.
I would have foamed the rigid to the floor joists to air seal but taping all the exposed sheathing joints with Tyvek tape at this point will work
(http://static1.squarespace.com/static/5301301de4b0010a5eae7983/t/532633dee4b026a30a7148d3/1433054106328/image.jpg)
You could leave everything you have in place now and add a layer of rigid insulation under the OSB sheathing you currently have in place, glue it and strap it then install another layer of OSB if you like, this will add a 3/4" air space under the rigid insulation which also has R value. You could leave the rigid exposed as well to save $$, glue it up then nail it in place with these:
-
My concern would be moisture getting between the OSB floor and the insulation below it and not being able to get out causing the joists to rot.
My not to bright late father in law sealed off the bottom of the joists in his crawl space with an aluminum foil vapor barrier. By the entry door it ended up rotting out the floor and joists because the moisture could not pass on through and out into the crawl space.
I used foil covered foam sheeting on my addition then kraft faced insulation with the kraft stapled to the sides of the studs. Luckily I had to pull some of the insulation to add some wiring. I found that the bottom plate was soaking wet from moisture getting through where the Kraft paper was not tight to the studs. I ended up putting visqueen on the walls to stop the moisture getting through to the foil and condensing because it could not pass through to the outdoors because of the foil. I went to using friction fit insulation and visqueen after that.
To get a moisture barrier on the floor area you could use a moisture barrier paint like BIN Sealer that has shellac in it.
-
While I realize it's not perfect, I have read many articles on floor insulation and there are conflicting reports on whether or not to use a vapor barrier. I'm not as I don't want the possibility of trapped moisture. I was going to put vapor barrier between the floor and joists but then if you have a water leak or spill it will sit between the sub floor and barrier and rot.
Planning on calking all of the joints as well, because I'm painting the floor to help seal it and give me something easy cleaning until I install flooring in a couple of years.
-
Floor's done!!!
On to the walls tomorrow!!! ;D

Thanks for the update Drifter how many rooms total will the cabin have when finished. The floor area looks on the small side in photograph. I'm assuming you are going to possibly have one large room with separate bath room on the main floor with a loft or second story for sleeping area.
Steve

Looking good Drifter, it looks to be 24' X 32', that's a good size camp, my house is 28' x 34' with a second story. Are you going to
have a lot of glass facing the lake? Just curios, did you have to get a building permit? ???
IW

Ahhh Drifter, lookin' great! I'm green with envy! As a construction guy and avid outdoorsman I would love to be working on your project, you get to enjoy the satisfaction of building in a pristine and beautiful setting, keep up the good work! @)

It's 24'X36' with a 1/2 loft for a total of about 1200sf.
Kitchen/dining and living room are all one big room with washroom, master bed room and mechanical rooms @ the back of the cabin.

No building permit needed as we are not in town.

Got most of one of the long walls complete today.
Should have it finished and standing tomorrow as long as it's not too windy. ;)

Thank you for the drawings clears things up ,you will have one nice get away when the build is finished. You are making great progress for a one man build. What plan do you have to raise the walls?
Steve

Very nice build.....cant wait to c finished product @)
-
Took longer than anticipated but got the big section 12'X16' of wall raised and the rest of the wall ready to go up. Ran into a couple of snags with my home made wall jack and had to do a little onsite re-engineering. Got er up single handed though. @)

See my last post Steve.
I made a wall jack to raise my walls. :)
-
Drifter thanks for the wall raising photographs . You have put a lot of thought into the build clever rig for getting the walls into place.
Steve

Excellent job Drifter!!
Continued success on your build, looking forward to the next photo's!

What a great accomplishment to get the wall up like that by yourself, you sure are doing an amazing job.  I
can't wait to see more pictures of your build.

Thanks guys!!!
More pictures to come.
Not today though as it was a dash to town and run errands day. ;)
Back @ camp now but think I'll go fishin' instead of workin'!!! ;)

First wall is up!!!
Only 3 more to go. ::)

It is surprising what a person working alone can come up with to get a third hand. I have done it many times.
Your wall lifting gadget is similar to what the guys that set the modular houses I worked on made to lift the roofs of the modulars.
Drifter one Q. why the lower window in the first section of wall?
So you can enjoy the view from the throne! ;D

It's not actually lower. The front one is higher. :)
It's the master bedroom window and the bottom is @ 48".
The front window bottom is @ 54" so the 40" flat screen doesn't block the view. ;D
-
Looking good Drifter it appears your wall raising rig works great. Do you take a break from the build and fish or get back to work after your trip to town?
Steve
-
OK drifter got it figured out.
Looks like 12 foot walls. It looks like you double studded at the joints between sections. That sure makes it easier setting the sections than trying to get a joint over a stud.
Dang I wish I could be up their giving you a hand. I sure miss pounding nails.

Steve
Every once in a while I manage to get a little fishin' in.
Got out for 3 hours when I returned from town on Friday.
Landed 2, lost one and had 3 short hits fishing lakers. :D
Biggest landed was 6-7#'s

Yep, you got it.
PS there isn't a single nail in the building. :D
There would have been but my generator isn't big enough to run my compressor. :-\
Gone through about 60 or 70#'s of screws so far. :woot:
-
Wow that is a lot of screwing.
You know they still make hammers and nails!!!
-
Got a couple of more panels up today.
Starting to look like something now.

Thanks guys!!!
Took today off to run into town and do chores as well as meet up with Jim Forbes AKA Bill Dance on here and his wife.
They are heading out to Plummers Great Slave in the morning for some troot action.
I gave them the 50 cent tour of Yellowknife and we had lunch before I left for the lake again.
I did manage to get the rest of my floor painted before sunset though. ;)
I have 12 more days before my vacation is over and I hope to have some roof rafters in place before I go back to work and have to get my work done on weekends between then and freeze up in October.
-
Two more sections of wall built and raised today!!
Only 3 more to go and then it's on to rafter installation!!!!

Drifter may you continue to have good weather for the rest of your vacation. So that the remaining wall sections and roof maybe completed at the cabin. I know you want it some what sealed up and protected before winter arrives in the NWT . I watched this past Sunday's broadcast of the first episode season 2 "Ice Lake Rebels" was a amazing to see how fast Great Slave can get covered in ice thick enough to walk on and lock house boats in place.
Steve

Way to go Drifter, you're on the way to get the roof on!

Last piece of the South wall is built and raised.
Put one of my 3 free temporary windows in for light and ventilation.
Currently on rain delay as there is a T-Storm moving through the area. I'm thinkin' I'll take it easy tonight and just watch a movie and drink a few rums. ;D

I agree Drifter about the view what type of windows will you have to install to reach a comfortable level between beautiful view and thermal efficiency . I'm guessing triple pane with argon gas between the glass layers. Curious about what you are going to do for potable water supply . Stay safe and remember one day you will be able to sit back and enjoy all of your labor.

Water is going to be pumped up from the lake into a tank under the cabin.
It will be connected to a large RV water pump and the rest of the system.

The walls are all in place!!!!!
Have to finish off the top plates install a beam in the front wall and then build my scaffolding so I can install the ridge board and rafters.

You are making great progress Drifter especially for a one man crew. I assume you will have a filtering system for the lake water. Is the holding tank for the water insulated to prevent ice formation?

No insulation. The cabin will be dry in the winter.
Probably not going to bother filtering. Not really a need.

I go back to work one week from today.
If I'm lucky I will have the rafters up before then.
After vacation I will be working on weekends until the roof is sheathed and roofing underlay is installed.
Then cover with a big effing tarp until spring. ;D

Managed to get most of my front wall beam built but started running low on screws so I switched over to working on my scaffolding as I wanted it at least partially built today.
Got the beam 3/4 done and the scaffolding about 1/2 done.
It even has good locking casters on it to move it around the cabin.

That's awesome! You're a one man gang Drifter!!
Can't help but ask....after you're done with the scaffold, I'm quite certain the beams have been figured into your build. Where are going to use them?
-
Looks great Drifter!
I watched another episode of Ice Lake Rebels last night, couldn't help but think about you and your build up there, a real slice of heaven.
-
I thought maybe you were going to use the cabin as a base for ice fishing trips and would need a water supply year round. I remember now your cabin is built on rock so getting water supply lines buried deep enough to prevent freezing would be difficult and expensive.
Steve
-
Good idea on the roll around scaffolding, as for water if you put in a big enough tank, it would only have to be refilled
once a week. I built a few camps here and when I plumbed them I made everything easy to drain.

Yeah, I plan to have lots of drain valves and points I can hook up the compressor to blow out the lines.
Currently I have one 275 gallon tank and am trying to get my buddy to get me another.

In the winter we just go down to the lake and drill a hole to fill a bucket or two for washing and cleaning.
FYI our frost line here is 12 feet!!! ;D
-
Took a pic from the lake as I was heading in to town this morning.
Looks pretty good up there EH!!! ;D

EH??
Looks Freeeeeking awesome Dave.. What a paradise you have there...
I can't get over the work you have done in such a remote spot...
Congratulations to you....

You picked a nice spot for your cabin Drifter. Your frost line is deep compared to my area only 4 feet. I would be cautious of drinking the lake water unfiltered but you know the area better then me.
Steve

Got my front wall beam finished, also got the scaffolding done. It works great!!
Also got my gable end ridge braces in place and have mostly completed assembly of the ridge board. It's going to be interesting trying to get the 41' long piece of 2X12 eighteen feet up in the air!!!! :woot:

Well it took most of the day but I got the ridge board in place and secured!!!
Took about 2 1/2 hours to rig the crane and about 3 1/2 to raise the ridge and secure it.
I figure the board weighs in at about 250#.
Think I'll do light work the rest of the day and start rafters tomorrow.

Nice going Drifter, you're on your way to your goal.

Impressive Drifter your scaffolding and crane system appear to work great for getting heavy items into place and you to the proper height. Just curious do you or did you work in the building trades your construction skills and knowledge leads we to think you have done something similar at one time in your life. Take sometime to enjoy the Canadian adult beverage of your choice and admire your work.
Steve
-
NAH, the closest I came to working in the trades was a summer working in HVAC when I was younger.
-
Got my 4 gable rafters up and in position.
Took longer than expected as I had to work to get my master rafter fitting properly.
Lots of up and down the scaffolding with a 16' 2X10 testing and marking............... ......
The good news is the rafters all fit perfectly.
Time for dinner and then see how many I can get done after dinner.

You are a man on a mission thank you for all the photographs. The weather has been good and your progress great for a one man crew. I have another question it appears there are notches cut out on the gable rafters what is the purpose of these notches.
Steve

Very impressed with your build, skill's and determination Drifter....thanks for sharing them with us!
Looking forward to next group of photo's.....be safe!

Steve, those notches are for the outriggers. They connect the fly rafter to the roof to create the eve's overhang on the gable ends of the building.

One of the bad things about vacations they eventually end. Many would say you had a working vacation given all you accomplished Drifter. You may feel different knowing your labor was going into building a place where you hope to make many memories enjoying the outdoors.

Doesn't look good for this weekend lads. :(
Looking at 30 MPH winds blowing straight down the lake tomorrow.
May be able to get out Sunday for the day though. ::)

Too bad about the wind, but we don't want to see you go sailing off the roof using a 4'X8' piece of sheathing for a kite!!! ;)2

Finally got out to the cabin today.
Been blowin' a gale all week. Was gusting 70+ on Friday and 50+ on Saturday.
But this morning there wasn't a breath of wind. :)
It was a bit chilly though after the front went through.

Clever material moving rig Drifter. I'm sure it makes the roofing job easier.
Steve
-
Nice lift, I made one similar when I build my house, but used a drill to whine up the cable, it was a variable speed drill.
The drill had a trigger lock so you could adjust the speed only to one speed, I didn't want to go to fast. It was too bad
that the wind was blowing so hard Friday and Saturday, that you weren't able to work. I bet you're going to be chomping
at the bit to get back there next weekend. Your cabin is coming along nicely.
IW
-
Your lift just proves that if there is a will there is a way.
I wish you had been my boss at on outfit I worked for. He had the roofing company deliver the shingles for a job to the company warehouse, driving right past the job site. They could have stopped at the job and run the shingles up on the roof for us. He thought we needed the exercise of carrying them up on the roof. I told him either find an elevator or enjoy carrying them up there him self. That was the second time I threatened to quit on that job alone.
-
I hope Mr. Drifter is out working on his cabin, I need a build fix real bad. How about the rest of you guys! :woot:
IW
-
I need one BAD!! Come on, I'm gettin' the shakes!!! ;)2
-
OK, here you go boys!!!! ;D
Got out to the cabin on Friday night and worked hard all day Saturday before heading back to town before dark.
Would have stayed out all weekend but there is a front moving through tonight and they are calling for some pretty crappy weather tomorrow.
45 kph winds gusting over 70 kph out of the East. They are the worst for my place. Coming straight into my dock from across the lake.
There will probably be 3-4 footers hitting my shore. Not good winds for carrying sheathing on top of the cabin.
Got some more sheathing done on the South side as well as some on the North side. Also got a bunch of my collar ties temporarily in place so I could remove the center brace and crane.
I will level out all the collar ties when the loft is in place.

I'm right in there with the other guys!! Thanks for the update and no one wants to see you up on the roof in wind like that!!
-
Looks great. You sure have a lot of great ideas to make moving the materials easier.
-
I forgot that you needed the collar ties on the rafters.
After seeing them I remembered that when I helped my cousin build his house he split 2x6's in half and screwed them to the bottom of his 2X12 rafters to make sure that he had air circulation above the insulation with full 12 inch batts. You could make the extensions at home and haul them over on the ice next winter. We counter snk the pre drill holes for the screws to fasten them on.
-
Yeah, they're kind of important. They keep the roof from pushing the walls out. ;D
Good thing I listened to the weather guy, was really windy and rainy just like promised. ;)

Hope you have better weather this weekend Drifter....you've done a great job! Looking forward to the next group of pictures......

Good thing I listened to the weather guy, was really windy and rainy just like promised. ;)
Should have realized that as we had an addition to repair that did not have them. With the huge snow load the walls got spread far enough that the ceiling fell in with the owner sitting in the room watching TV. Took lots of chain and come alongs with jacks on the ridge board to get it back together.

Should have realized that as we had an addition that did not have them. With the huge snow load the walls fgot spread far enough that the ceiling fell in with the owner sitting in the room watching TV. Took lots of chain and come alongs with jacks on the ridge board to get it back together.

;D
Crappy weekend this week. :'(
Sick on Saturday, good day on Sunday and rain on Monday.
I didn't get done what I wanted to but did get a little done before heading home early due to the weather. Too dangerous to be up on the roof when it's wet.
Saturday I was able to work for 10 mins before taking a 30 min break. Too weak from the sickness.
Got the door in and some of the exterior sheathing and tuck taping done on the front and South side. Also got half of the back gable end sheathed.
Sunday I got all of the blocking on the North side rafters done as well as the eve and front fly rafters. I redid the sheathing as it wasn't working out from the top down.
Hopefully next weekends weather is good and I can get the roof finished.

Weather was crap this weekend. Friday and Saturday was rain and high winds with gusts to 50 MPH.
Today it's overcast, cold and a little rain. Decided to stay @ home this weekend and do some work on my fishin' machine.
New front brakes, reconditioned my headlights as they were badly pitted and yellowing due to age. I also installed a new moose/bison avoidance system. My rig now has 37,000 lumens of LED lighting available. Should work well for those butt heads that refuse to refuse to dim their high beams when meeting you on the road. ;D

Going to finish the wiring today.
Still have 2 or 3 weeks left to get this cabin thing set for the winter before I have to stop working and start fishing until freeze up in October.

I think you might have enough lights to do just that!! :o If the weather cooperates, how long do you figure it will take you to get the cabin closed in??

Different brands. Got em off ebay.
They are just inexpensive Chinese lights.
Hopefully they work decently. Going to aim them tonight after dark. ;)

Another miserable weather weekend here in YK. :(
Rain and high winds all day Saturday and showers and wind today.
Got out for a few hours today to clean up all the water from yesterdays storm and to tarp the roof.
Quite the pain in the butt man handling a 30'X40' tarp solo in 40 km gusts!!!

Mother Nature is not being very kind to you, to say the least!! IF you get decent weather, how long do you think it will take you to close the cabin in? And as a matter of fact, does it really need to be totally enclosed for the winter if the weather doesn't cooperate??

I just need a couple of days to get it closed in.
I've got 2 more weekends before I have to do a little fishin'. ;D

Dave that looks awesome man I am so jealous, some day I will have a cabin. I have really enjoyed living vicariously through you and wish I was there to help.

Was a pretty frosty ride up the lake @ 40 MPH this morning.

Moved all of the skids out of the way as well. I even managed 2 hours of fishing. Poked over a dozen poikes in that time. A couple of good ones in the 15# range as well as a couple of monsters lost. I know at least one was in the 20+ range.
