Just booked my trip and I have a few questions
« on: Dec 03, 2004, 06:49 AM »
Hi all I just booked my trip up to a place called Sportsman lodge in Baudette. I would like to know what you all fish for up there. I fish mostly for crappie and bluegills here in Illinois and I am concerned my equipment is not going to be big enough. What kind of jigs do you all use. Weight of line. What kind of rod weight like med light? If you have heard of this lodge could you tell me a few things to look for up there when fishing. We are going to be up there in February 18-21 so I have plenty of time to accumulate some new stuff if needed. Thanks for your time.

You will probably going after walleye and sauger up there.
The crappie fishing can be good as well.
You may want to buy a rod and reel or two. Nothing real heavy needed. 4 or 6 lb line is what I like. Basic selection of jigging spoons will suffice. I like to buy them in the area I am visiting. Helps with getting the shop owners talking when you actually buy some stuff. They will know what you need and what colors and patterns are working.

I would also e-mail the lodge and ask them.
