Whitefish - NE Minnesota

Looking for advice ... anyone who's fished for whitefish around the Gunflint Trail in NE Minnesota.  I've been ice fishing for Lake Trout in this area for the past 20 years, and am looking to start trying to catch whitefish through the ice.  I'm on Poplar Lake, which I know has whitefish ... anyone with some experience in this area, I'd appreciate any pointers you have on where/how you go about having success.  Thanks
