Ice conditions in the NEK
« on: Feb 13, 2008, 08:44 AM »
Has anybody been fishing on Magog, or Seymour lately. Just wondering what the ice conditions are like, if they are still driving on etc. Thanks

I fished Willoughby last Thursday right after the last heavy snow.
Every hole created huge areas of slush as the water came up
something incredible. There was a good 15 inches of snow on the ice.

How was the action up there??  I have fished it a few times and never really had any luck.  Are you using suckers to start then jiggin smelt?  I may make the trip up on saturday, I am not sure yet.

I had a feeling that was the case. Typical of snow loaded ice. If it would stop snowing for a while some of that slop will get soaked up. Did you get any fish on Thursday?

I was on Magog last Sunday during that wild weather... Plenty of ice, had my truck out there... Got a 22" brown, and that was my only flag...

Hizzy, how was the driving out there? Is it all drifted up, or is the going pretty good? What area did you fish? I have been fishing out by the twins, and wondered how the going was out that way if you know. Thanks Jeff

It was good going everywhere last weekend... I don't know about now, with all the snow from yesterday... It would probably be good to have a friend with a snowplow ;)
