My wife and I fished Dillenbeck last weekend. The ice was iffy - 5" of double layered white ice. There were a few guys out there that had covered the bay looking for gills, two had three and one had two. We fished for about an hour catching 8 good sized yellow perch. If they got the last two storms we did I'm not sure it'll be safe.

TRT let me know how you do if you can. I've been dying to do that type of fishing since moving here but it seems perch is all anyone talks about.

I suppose the warm weather this week has thinned out the ice a bit up there...

I Stopped by the Dillenbeck launch tonight. You need waders or a 10 ft plank just to get to the ice.

What's the latest info on Northern Champlain?  Did it lock back up or is the snow slowing things down?

Went to Georgia shore today and punched some holes just to check the ice. Was surprised to find 6". Since the entire inner sea froze at the same time, I'd have to assume that there's at least 6"  from the sand bar to the Missisquoi. Heard there was 9-10" at Sampsons. Tonight will add another inch and so will tomorrow night.

We've got warm weather today and tomorrow--rain/40's so we probably lost some ice but cold coming in for the end of the week (teens and single digits overnight) so I think we'll make it up.  There was 8-10" of ice on the cowbanks this past w/e.  No flags and some dinks in a few hours of fishing.  Hopefully the Alewife die-off will be done and the fish will put on the feedbag for this weekend.  Good luck in the derby

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.
