Anyone preparing for this season with some new sled projects? I can't say enough good things about these Smitty Sleds.

Have planned on making a smitty sled for about a year but haven't found a pair of skis for under $80 near me in all that time. Will keep looking maybe one day I will get lucky.

Skis are available at local thrift stores. I bought mine for $10.

I know a guy that makes furniture from old skis and he has a large surplus of skis that he would give away for free if anyone is interested.

I like the idea of the cross members extended for the auger. I think I may remodel mine and put the tent off one side and the auger off the other. This would balance nicely and make the sled a little easier to find things once getting to the spot rather than unload due to things being buried.

Picture 2 large orange cargo sleds tied together along the side holes. I suggest tying the sleds
so they run parallel to one another with a little gap. You have a great light, cheap sled
that is easy to transport, pull up hills, goes over heavy snow etc. Perfect for us
not mechanically inclined.
