I'm hopeful that we will be able to get on the ice without much trouble this weekend. If so I'll be out there with some buddies looking for whites.

Somewhere between st albans bay and cowbanks I would guess.
The crappie run is starting a little earlier than last year, so maybe the whites will be earlier also
Good luck, stay safe.

I saw a post on another forum that someone caught a handful of Whites in the bay.
Ice conditions were 6" and shoreline was sketchy.

Ice is pretty much garbage though.

Can someone update this thread when a kayak can get 50 feet off shore? Or answer how long until you can kayak to the green can? Be nice to get some whites outta the lake, not bad eating either. Sucks the ice season was rough at times and ended but definitely ready for spring runs I forget how to upload photos here or I woulda uploaded some pics. This year was great! Just not always great ice....
Load it, Drive it, Park it
Bait it, Jig it, Hook it
Catch it, Clean it, Cook it
Simply put just get out/ and do it

I live in the area and drove down through, most of the shore is shot with large areas of open water, the gate to the camps on point rd is closed. you could get on from the state park and walk out in a couple areas, but i imagine with the continued warm weather and the rain that is forecasted what is left of shore will be gone soon.

I caught my first 8 white perch on ice today. Couldn't find any big schools, they were mainly lone fish mixed in with yellows. Quebec side of Memphremagog, very close to VT border.

Hit a new spot (in Quebec again) for white perch today. Took me 5 hours to finally find a few, but the quality made up for lack of quantity. At 13 and 14.5 inches, with one over 2 lbs, these bass sized panfish make me think I'm gonna need a bigger pan.

Tough bite for white perch at the spot I went to a few days ago, finally found a nice one just before leaving.

Big surprise was catching 5 bass, the lunker going nearly 4 lbs.

I went down that way today.  ice is all broke up. the bay was about 2/3 floating ice and the rest is open water. most all ice is near the north and east shores , as we get mainly west/northwest and south winds. From the point it looks like open water out to about as far as the green can. The wind will keep the ice moving until it sinks.
