Frabill Pro-Thermal Tipups
« on: Jul 12, 2022, 06:07 PM »
Bought a new set of tipups on Amazon Prime day, 20% off.

Who rocks the ProThermals? Was sick of snow blowing into holes and dealing with the freezing over.

Like them? Hate them?  ;D

I have 5 of them ..they do work.. but each one seems to be finiky in there own individual way . They are not the smoothest tripping tip ups in the world but for predator fish they work just fine. One thing I learned is to get them to sit level/flat onto the ice ..bring a shovel ..even packing some snow around them helps alot.

I used to love them, bought one last winter and it was pure junk. It had a small piece broken, not a biggie, called frabill, completely blew me off. All their stuff seems to be getting cheaper and cheaper quality.

Im not sure if it was a frabill pro thermal but my buddy had a black round frabill tipup with the telescopic flag.anyways it had a very crappy trigger for the flag and during a pike tournament he had over 10 false/wind flags.i ended up kicking it down the hole.total piece of crap.even when it did work the limpy long flag pole would not stand straight up.lol

They're ok, liked the older round frabills better. There's not really a great round tipup on the market. Beaver dams round tipups are better imo but the flags are goofy, also quite spendy compared to frabills

The new VYPR is um.... interesting?  $70 bucks and requires D cell batteries and a 10" hole I think I'll pass though. ::)
I'm a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.

Thanks guys. I’ll give them a try, bought 4 of them didn’t break the bank with them only being $19 a piece.

If they’re not for me I have a slew of classic tips I can go back to.

Says the frabill with his toes crossed for lying. Junk!
