Nope, been chillin' @ home.
Finished putting my sled back together this weekend and fixed a broken weld on my boat trailer.
Plan to go to the cabin next weekend.

My roofing is sitting @ the lumber yard waiting to be delivered though.
Won't be hauling it out to the cabin until the ice road goes in.
Along with my siding. ;)

Drifter

Are the blue tarps going to hold the water out that long. The ones we get down here can not take that much sun before leaking like crazy.

Maybe you  can commander one of those firefighting helicopters to lift the roffing out there since it seems like the fires are out.

Blue tarps are gone and synthetic underlay is installed.
It'll last fine. They used the same thing on a commercial building across the street from work and left it for 7 or 8 months before putting the metal on.

This was before the North side was done.
I also tuck taped the joints so the wind won't tear it up.
The guys over the road didn't and had some wind damage.   ;)

Well I didn't make it out to the cabin this week.  :'(
Had to fly out of town on Friday afternoon and didn't get back til almost dark.
I was going to head out Friday after work because Saturday was supposed to suck with wind, and rain.
It did.  ::)
I did manage to get a few shots of my lake from the plane though.   ;D

And on Friday morning before I left for work my roofing showed up.
All 2500#'s of it!!!

Hopefully I can get out to the cabin next weekend as it's time to close things up.
Had a couple of mornings below freezing this week.   ;D

No shortage of fishy spots fo sho!!!   ;D

Got my snowmobile completely finished today.
Drove it out of the shelter and up onto my trailer and then gave her a good wash.
She's back under her cover and inside her shelter now just waiting for some snow so I can run her around and make sure all is good before hauling more materials out to the cabin.

I'm just curious about the areas that didn't receive Tyvek in the pictures. Did you finish doing them after you took the pics, or are you leaving them bare for some reason??

How are you going to keep the little critters, mice vole and weasels and snow, from getting into the basement/crawl space below the bottom plates? Scribing the plywood to the rock will be time consuming.

Sorry for some of the questions but being an old disabled carpenter with not much to do, I notice these things.

You are going to have a wonderful home when its finished.  Two questions...how about some pics of the view from the front porch some day and what is the tall white object seen in a couple of the pics from the air?
You can observe alot by watching.

That area is getting river rock veneer to make it look like it has a stone foundation.
It is pressure treated and will have screen over top for the cement to adhere to.
The Tyvek covers exterior OSB and will be sided with Hardie Board.

I will be scribing plywood to install there before I do the veneer.
Yes I know it will be a pain. ;)

If you mean this thing, it's a material lift I made to get my materials on the roof.

Here's a 6 shot pano looking out off my porch. Weather is pretty ugly right now though. ;)

I believe he meant the object seen in your aerial views you posted earlier in Reply #308. It's in the second and third pics. I noticed that also. Could it have to do with mining??

Haven't been out since late October.
I have 8,500 #'s of metal roofing and concrete siding I have to haul out once the ice road goes in.
Gonna try and get out for a snowmobile ride to the cabin on the weekend.  ;)

Seems the snow road may be a bit late this year, Dave?   My other problem is a short memory.

Odd.    First good freeze we've had in years, with a harvester and processor crawling around the neighborhood on top, ha.    Weight is up around 75,000 # . Wait, kilos ??   You know, things wid lots of gravity.    :roflmao:
