Chief, if I make it up there and to the sugar loaf area I will stop by! How is the road to the sugar loaf launch?

Elkcrazy, thanks for the report. Do you have any idea of what it's like around boulder creek?

Stonebreaker is in great shape... I am not sure how Boulder is. I stayed over that way last night but not go out on the lake there.

Hmmm.  I love reading the reports.  It surprises me how often the reports differ from what I personally observed.

I went to SL on Thursday and had a fair bit of trouble on Stonebreaker road.  I slowed way down to go over the cattle guard and then just spun out and had to stop on the hill.  I put it in 4 and had a REALLY hard time getting going again.  Ice was good, though.

I went again on Saturday and the road and ice were all good, but the edge ice around the lake, specifically at the boat ramp is weakening and breaking off.  I'm not sure how much longer you will be able to get an ATV on the ice there.

Fishing was great on Saturday, BTW.

Good luck to all and tight lines.

We did reasonably well all morning, but then late in the afternoon we had an hour that was absolutely crazy.  Over 50 JUMBO's in under an hour between 2 of us, then dead.......

Was up at Cascade yesterday, edges coming off the boat ramp were four wheeler's drive onto the lake are soft, my 60 pound lab found out real fast on his first step onto the ice he broke thru so watch the edges unless you want to be wet. O yea and the fishing was pretty good small jig and a little bit of worm. Have a nice day  ;D

Lots of water around the edges in Cascade.  The access in town is not usable at all.  Areas with less runoff are in better shape but another day like today will make things interesting.

Was out at sugarloaf today(Tuesday), Ice is 20" thick, top is hard, maybe an 1" of slush, edges are messed up all over, went up too the radiator in 4 different places, until I found a place too get on, if you come up bring boards or long ramps, it's gonna be hard getting on in the next couple of days. Be careful,

I used my ramps to get on at SL today.  Put a hundred foot line to the sled and drug it over the open water.  Coming back I dropped the sled and tossed  the line to shore and just jumped the 4 wheeler in the water.  Hooked up the sled and drug it across the water to the beach.  Lots of work but the fishing was worth it.  One guy almost flipped his wheeler trying to climb up on the ice in 3 feet of water.  Then seen a guy bury his sled in the water at the end of the day.  I think that's it for me unless the weather changes big time.

Any reports on how it is to get on the ice further north?  Say Poison or Boulder?

Looking to head up Thursday.  It's supposed to be really warm tomorrow so I imagine it is going to be nasty getting on and off.

Looks like it's suppose to be cooling down again by this weekend. Hopefully it will stick around for a little while. I'll probably be up there Sunday, haven't decided where yet. Keeps the updates coming on ice conditions.

Must have forgot your glasses, look at tackle toms face book page, pictures show a good gap boss, I was there also with a tape measure.... I believe HnH will also say the same, walking is fine if your under 180, Perch Freak can also give his report since he was here today with me,
