Laker/Brown Jigs?, Methods?

Fishing new waters this year in search of lakers and browns. Main bait fish is alewives in the particular lake i mainly will be fishing. Just wanted to know what you guys recomend for jigs? I was thinking white jig heads tip with shiner, some spoons?? Any color patterns you find works best. This is a clear water lake. Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys

There is a lake by me that the state dumps some old breed stock in that I want to try for.  I stocked up on a bunch of white jig heads too.  In the big lake during the summer they use a 3/4 oz horizontal jig with a white fuzz skirt.
