Fly the Team Iceshanty Flag! Iceshanty Proshop
Hey, a buddy's girlfriend drove her sled across Bomo this weekend to say hi and see how I was doing. She actually stopped and parked her sled outside my furthest tip-up and walked through the spread to the shanty. I was amazed and impressed. He's got a keeper there!
I agree i was at Seymour a few weeks ago and trucks were driving right by my 4 flags I'm allowed it was like really
You ladies should start another hobby.WaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhWaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhWaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
Im going to make the assumption that you are one of the "bee-line through tip up spread" kind of guys? I suppose when you have the money to risk a $20,000+ car or truck out on the ice, you probably don't have to worry about wasting money on gas and bait just to have your trip be possibly ruined by lazy people. I don't have any scientific proof that vehicle traffic scares fish, but Im going to stand on the "it does" side of the argument. There are plenty of places to recreate with a motor vehicle, and a frozen lake shouldn't be one of them IMHO.
I would not drive a truck on the ice if you paid me to.I think it makes a difference on the fish.I walk everywhere.I'm just sick of the belly aching.I think there way too many people here using this forumTo whine. It must be a vermont thing other states forums don't have theseProblems. That's just my opinion.
Carmi was a mess all weekend, we got there friday and set up max tips for 4 people. as we were setting up a guy that has a camp on the lake started drilling holes, he set a line that went from north of the island, all the way to the south shore, right through the middle of 2 of the lines we had just set. The guy then proceeded to take his UTV and drive to his camp go inside, and ignore his flags for the next 2 hours (including one that went off 10 minutes after he drove off) he had multiple flags off for over 30 minutes unchecked. He then checked his flags and did the same again. Then later in the day a group of 10 trucks started building a village just north of us, and they ended up setting up well over 100 tips in a manner that they almost totally encircled us. Saturday morning after everyone got back to the lake, we moved all our gear away from that group and set in the middle of the lake to find a little space, but then had to deal with people driving 40mph through our lines all day. People just have no respect.

Just tells me again that Vt's monster tipup allowance is TOO MONSTER!! All those tipups (covering to big an area AND unattended) are not the way to create a friendly ice fishing community!! NH's two(2) tipup lakes seem extreme but there is definitely an altenative extreme.Dick
And the snowmobiles went whizzing right through it didn't they BB?
