If you fish 30 or deeper. YOu better plan on keepin em. "bring em up slow". That's cute boys but unless yOu mean like an hour it ain't gonna help at all. Very high chance of mortality. Caught all sorts of fish of ALL sizes in less than twenty.  Fish as deep as yOu want I guess but realize what you may be doing

I hardly fish over 10 feet at Buffalo.  I find most of the fish in the 10 foot range with no need to fish deeper.
