Meat Stick Vs. Premier
« on: Dec 19, 2011, 02:22 PM »
I just picked up the 28' Meat Stick Walleye rod and the 32' St Croix Premier Medium action rod.  I plan to use one for jigging and one as a dead stick/ice rigger rod.  Which one will serve which application best?  The Meat Stick is a glass rod so I am assumming the sensitivity will be less so it will be better served as a dead stick/ice rigger rod...Or am I way off....

The 28" Meatstick is all I use for deadsticking. It works great. I use med. action Premiers from 32"-42" for jigging.

Meat stick works great for both.
The rod tip on the meat stick is fantastic @ detecting light bites and has a backbone to bring em in.

The soft flexible tips of the Meat Stick is a deadstick with a backbone on the hookset.  The new Premier 36" L makes a great deadstick as well.
