Lake Willoughby?
« on: Jan 27, 2011, 02:18 PM »
Not looking for any fishing tips, but was wondering if anyone had been out there in the past few days.  Going Sunday and was wondering about fishing the west side across from the boat launch and how the ice was out that way.  Any info would be appreciated.  Going to try for lakers, rainbows, and salmon all day and stay a little after dark and try for a cusk or two, thanks.

Walked on the north end.  Maybe 6 inches in spots maybe 4 inches in spots.  Fished shallow along the north west shoreline.  No flags.  Fished from 1:30 to 5:00 pm.  I'm thinking Willoughby is still a dusk to 10:00 am lake and if you havent gotten anything by 10 am start cooking lunch your out of luck.  At least thats the way it was 12 years ago.  Is that others experience too?

Trout slayer check you inbox, I pm'd you.

All the NEK trout lakes fish the same "prime time' is dark till 8:30 an then you enter
the desert zone only to be cheered- jeered by wind or bait flags.

I was there Sunday and had about 7 flags all day, all were short lakers and all were on the bottom.  We didnt get set up till about 830am but it was fairly steady throughout the day.
