Thanks again.  I might take a trip up myself at some point this weekend.  Zero degree weather two nights this weekend!!  That will help!

you always have to be careful out there, usually there is a pressure crack in that area that's most likely where he went threw

It was right there. Last year my fishing partner and I left the access and headed south to get close to the point. We dug a hole and there was 6" all the way across the bay and we were headed for the area off Hill Rd. When we got close to wally Point we got off the machines and started to walk and test the ice by digging holes. We got right off the point where the crack was and the ice was down to 2" so we went back to the machines and went right to shore at the point and crossed right on the beach. Word went out to the area between Kellogg and hill Rd and hit them good. The word spread and the next day we did the same thing and about 1 hour after a person we know who got the word on the bite went right from the access to where we were located and didn't go to land to get around the point. His brand new Mule side by side went into 6' of water. He got it out the next day but it cost him or his insurance about $2500 by the time he was through it all.

looked like most of keelers is locked up-- not sure when it happened, but I was figuring last night.  the ice was out to kellog island.   tonight will help too with the colder temps hopefully.  saw a few people fishing down by the inlet/swampy area-- just outside it.
