First Nice Laker of the Season
« on: Dec 13, 2010, 04:53 PM »
we've been hammering the 'bows and cutts in the shallows for a while, but yesterday i walked out a little deeper in search of lakers and found this big girl:

didn't get any measurements before releasing, but i figure it's probably about fourteen or fifteen.

Good job man! I'm jealous. Hopefully we will be able to hook up and get on the ice sometime soon. It was almost 50 degrees here today. Not exactly good conditions for making ice. I should have taken the boat out.

He does such a great job that fish is going to look awesome!

As an aside, I ran into him the other day and mentioned that I had heard he was thinking about retiring.  He said he had heard that rumor and did not know where it started!

So, those thinking about getting skin mounts, Robert is still the one in Western Wyoming!!!

My uncle sam just got his mount back from robert tues...11 month turn around....its awesome!  Robert had a heel spur so didnt get to go hunting very much this year so he worked ALOT!  Usually the wait is about 2 yrs...which isnt a big deal for the quality of work you get!  When i was there last week he was finishing up 7 different fish!...with the fish we have around here i'd say robert has the most secure job in sublette county! ;D

Joe...it depends where your at...some 2"...some 6"...

I have seen Robert's work and if I am ever fortunate enought to get one big enough, that's where I will be going. I'm not sure I have ever seen any better work than his.

He did a 44lber for me a few yr's back and it is way to dark for a FG laker but he does do a dang good job! just makes the gorge fish to dark more like the northern fish that's the only reason I havent taken any back to him and I wasnt cool with the 2yr wait!

I'd like to see the picture of a 44#er, the biggest i've ever seen is about 30#s
