Last year was my first year with the HB 35. Because of the warm weather I only got to use it a couple of days during the Winni derby in NH. During the day, it really didn't do me much good. I drill by hand and just couldn't drill enough holes to find them. At night though, the screen lit up with perch. Hope you find the HB to be a good choice.

I just bought back my original Ice 35, from the very first run of humminbirds. Still a great machine, taught another newbie how to use it this weekend and he caught his personal best walleye through the ice, im sure he will be buying one very soon.

Never had a problem with my 35, 45 or 55.

Congrats on the flasher man! Its going to be a game changer for you, soon you'll see why so many won't fish without one.

I have had the Ice 35 for 3 years now and could not be happier with it.  I use it year round off my kayak.  I tie up to a brush pile and hammer fish.  You will love it.

I love my bird 35. It's not a top end unit for sure, but the price was right for me and any flashers better than none! I would reccomend it to anyone.

Okay, grandson...get ready for some friendly competition: my "Chevy" against your "Ford!" Burns, Forest, Partridge, Dodge, Ogontz, Martin Meadow, Streeter, Pearl or anywhere! See you on the ice and we'll see how good that Bird flys!  ;D  ;)

I bought my 35 about 2 years ago.  Love it.  Like playing video games on the ice ;D  You won't have any issues with this flasher.  It is a good baseline flasher without all the bells and whistles.

I love mine and they have great customer service. Had a warranty issue with transducer sent it in to get fixed with no problems.

My buddy bought one the other year, and loves it.
Said the only problem he had was the interference from my HB 570PT nextdoor. ;D

If you haven't already, don't put the extra length of rubber for the transducer that they send with the unit.  It is not needed, and will actually give you false readings.  It was put on the unit just to bypass some patent stuff.  I have been told first hand by HB people that it is not needed.  Good unit though, I have the 55, but a couple buddies use the 35, and it's a great flasher.
