I'm learning that there are a lot of really cool people on iceshanty with the a few special ones thrown in (you know, the guys who feel the need for personal insults).  It's probably better for everyone that they stay home.  My guess is, if you're obnoxious to fellow fisherman on an online forum when you are sober, the drunk in-person version is probably a real treat!   ;D

Also, not sure but I think urinating on the ice is illegal. Of course I never have, but a container of some sort may help avoid problems.

Now that is funny, my keyboard is now sticky with gatorade.

JezzHuntin can you ride a sled? I bet we can get you out there sometime if you want.... no promises on bringing you back, but you should be okay as long as you don't outfish me. ;D

yeah I can, but with the pain I am currently in I wouldn't want to ride in a car for longer than 30 mins.  I do have these fancy crutches with fold down cramp-ons.  Pretty slick.  I am sure I will get some fishing in around the middle of March, if the ice holds with this crazy weather we are having.  If we were small mouth fishing you may be in trouble, but hardwater fishin I would bet money you would be safe of being outfished.   ;) ;)

This is entertaining stuff.  Prob a pretty good chance that some locals will have a chane to win it.  From watching a few poorly produced episodes of Icemen it seems like the locals usually win and most of the guys are panfish specialists.  It should be interesting to see them go after trout.

I don't know why anyone, anyone would complain about the exposure to ice fishing in montana.   And west yellowstone is a heck of alot closer than michigain, or minnesota, or wisconsin...    Money that comes in to the state from out of staters is not a bad thing. So I don't know what the fuss is all about.

I get that you gotta pay to play, but isn't that life... Just like the old motorsports saying,
Speed cost money, how fast do you want to go?  fishing cost money to...

I just don't get all the negativity, if you don't want to go, then don't, or start your own tournament.

I travel 400 miles to evanston wyoming to visit the in-laws, so I should be allowed to drive that far to fish right?

Quanton, was out this morn on that back-up sled you're using. Gonna run some seafoam through it and hope that helps, Did okoay but we'll try to get it flying before you show up. Not much luck for me but here is  a bow my main man Dan caught this morn!

Hope this gets some members excited.

I know, I know Creeper you wouldn't get excited for this fish even if it had a rack, right? ;D

IceCreeper,

I know you think it's insane but to each his own when they can afford it.  Really wish you would come out and have fun with us, we are a great crowd drunk or sober.  Did you see the size of that Bow?  Please try to have a good time no matter where you are or where your fishing.  Make it fun/laughs.  Don't ditch on us for selling our first born to make the derby. :o ;D

Kyle,

Make sure you put the GPS coords on the sled and the bait I need.  I want 5 fish just like that one.

Hey,
are they driving on the ice?

I have been out there dragging trails outside the marina. I've gone East and West and straight out with a path that you could drive a quad on at this point and I plan to make them wider and a lillte more extensive. To the east it goes out around the corner of the water-break, to the west I went to the last house on the shore and turned around and straight out you can get to 20' of water pretty easy. That fish of Dan's weighed 4.7lbs  We went ou today and iced 9 fish. 2 real nice browns and 4 good browns and 3 good bows. Not bad all in all.

46 registered teams and counting from all over!  7 different states represented and we have more teams registered than the last NAIFC event in ND!  If this keeps up it might just STICK!
