checked the ice when I went by today at the pump house. measured ice in a hole someone had drilled this morning.  It was about 5-6 inches deep, about 30 yds out from the pump house.

Ha!  That is why I enjoy a blacked out shanty.  Much easier to sight fish than laying on the ice and dipping your nose in the water.  Wonder where those guys were at on the ice.  Any iceshanty-men want to fess up to getting their pic taken?

Wish it was me, but to be quite honest, I have'nt had the nerve to walk out on that ice yet. I've noticed the older I get the more cautious(chicken) I am. -LOL- May give it a try real soon though.

Ice was 5-6 inches yesterday off of dentons point and 8 different shacks were there in the morning. Got into some koke's, but few trout.

I was out Sat the 3rd at Comers, just on the outside of where the usually mob is.  I had just shy of 6" of good ice, had to be 5.75 anyway.  Looking to the east across the lake it appeared to be "rough" not a nice smooth sheet of snow, I assume the ice is chunky farther out where the wind could affect it.  Ice was good by comers, one guy even had a 4- wheeler out.  The fishing???  We managed to get 5 in about 6 hours, the one other I talked to had about the same.

Fished sunday out at comers in the moring, iced a few kokes, and a few rainbows, biggest bow being 19". Like said before ice was a good 6in. Also fished across from red bridge access thicker ice, but less fishing action. Overall we marked a ton of fish on the vexilar few wanted to bite...the ones that did were very light but that pretty much what i expected with this front that moved in. :-\

My son and I fished Denton's on Saturday.  Caught a lot of kokes.  They're spawners, but a 7 year old doesn't care! Ice was about 6 inches.  It was a great morning to be out.

Fished Comers yesterday.  The first fish was a Kok and the other dozen were trouters.  Move to Dentons about 11am and caught four spawners and fifteen to eighteen trouters.  Several in the 15" to 17" range.  Weather was to put it mildly, "spectacular".  Wind picked up around 1pm and we left at 2pm.  What a great day.

Fished Sunnyside today, good ice around 8 inches. Caught 10 koks. 3 trout. More koks than all of last year. They seemed to like green better than anything else. Good Luck

Straight out from Comers. If you feel like trecking i'd fish Piney Point over Comers. Have had the best luck for Silvers there. You used to be able to park out on the point but that is a thing of the past now.

If you're fishing off Comers near the pile of rocks out on the ice, you might hook onto a small silver plated whiskey flask in about 12 feet of water.  If you do, it's mine and I lost it last Saturday.  Unless the fish found it and had a party, it should still be about half full of Bulleit Bourbon.  You can have the bourbon, but I want the flask.

--------------- I'll keep my eyes peeled!

missoulafish- I've heard that Piney Point has been dead for koks. I've fished all around Piney in years past, but only caught trout. Have you had good luck with koks at Piney, this season?
