single salmon eggs on a hook or shrimp works great.  You don't need anything fancy for landlocked salmon.  Most of the time I try not to catch them when I am fishing for rainbows.  They come in huge schools/swarms and try to go after the jigs I use for rainbows but their mouths are too small to get the hook in their mouth.  Little jigs work as well.  The smaller the better if you are trying to target landlocked salmon.  Use bigger jigs if targeting rainbows so they don't swallow the hook.

Lately I've been doig well with a 1/48 oz minnow head with wire keeper in Watermelon color with silver glitter. To this I add a black mo' magic or a curl tail grub.
I made some bigger ones but didn't need to try them.
My wife has been using a 1/32 round head with wire keeper in Orange and electric blue with an orange grub tail.
We've been getting 25-35 landlocked per day and a few rainbows each. Some nice sized fish in the mix also.
I've got some new stuff to try when I'm off the slope again that should do as well or better I'm hoping.
Last year chartreuse was a hot color but haven't tried it yet this year as I was doing pretty well with watermelon.
These are all made by me in my tackle making workshop.
If you need some pm me and I can hook you up.

How big doug these landlocks get
3#-4# on the higher end here on the peninsula.
16"-18" fish are fairly common for us.

With the right tackle on a halfway decent lake this is what a days catch of Landlocked Salmon should look like.
I caught a lot more than this but kept these 10 for my limit.

So I finally remembered and had time to get a photo of some more jigs that I like for landlocked Salmon.
The OD green one is a color called watermelon.
The other one is sort of a secret jig. My son was playing with the powder paint and came up with it.
Super glow orange and electric blue.Made one for my wife and several for himself.
Well my son forgot his and my wife had the only one.
She slayed them and I couldn't even catch a cold. Even switching to her hot hole. She caught fish in my dead hole and her hot one went dead.
You can bet I have some in my box now. Just another bonus of making your own tackle.

We have three species in various lakes.
We have true Kokanee or landlocked Red Salmon in some lakes.
Some of our lakes have stocked Silver salmon.
Others have stocked King Salmon.
The ones in the picture I posted were stocked Silver Salmon.
All would be Pacific Salmon.
Atlantic salmon up here are a four letter word and are worse than the plague. Mainly because that's what farmed fish are. Farmed fish are a threat to our wild runs in our rivers and ocean.

yeah. i saw a show about that .we don't even like the farmed atlanics off the coast here. they pollute the bays and bring disease to the wild stock. when i was in the army stationed in n.m. we used to snag konakee on the angel fire river. was a blast and we used to be able to keep 30 per person. they weren't very big tho. a good one was 16-18in.
