Lots of inspiring stuff here guys! Since I just got a new Jet Sled, and we had a long weekend, I thought I need to do an "extreme make-over". I'm just in phase one, but Doc Hollywood inspired me.

Closed up

The tip-up locker closed

and open

With phase one complete, I need to come up with a way to carry the auger, and add some rod holders. I'll load it up at some point, and post another pic for your review.   ed

The Otter Rod locker is the way to go. It is made for jig rods and does not cost any more than a bow or gun case.

Nice setup Dutch.  Where did you get those brackets??  What are they supposed to be for?  Figure buying something that's ready made is easier than making them from scratch.

Hey ASAT, the more I look at your set up, the more impressed I get. I'd like to copy it.

How about posting some close up pics that you previously mentioned?

XJMA I made everything from scratch basically ,the actual brackets (on the sled) are spare parts from an overhead garage door(found 'em on the job) everything else basically cost me around 17.00.Sure beats a 50 dollar universal. Here's the finished tow bar. This is going to wrap around the rear grab handle and hopefully not jackknife if something happens.

Basically the same metal as the rest of the setup, just have to paint and I'm done!

Hey Craig, can you explain what you have going on with your electronics pedestal there? I see the depth finder, but what's the small gray box and shielded cable?

Thanks,

Skull, got any close-ups of your "second deck"? I'm interested in what's holding your bucket, and your rod holders.

Eddie, the bucket is sitting in a painted milk crate and the rod holders are  PVC pipe screwed to the side of the crate.

I put mine in buckets for years and for the last few seasons have used the Otter rod locker. no more broken rods! It packs really nice.

Wish they made a half size one though...http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/otter-rod-case-black.aspx?a=386225

All it took was one "mishap" and a broken rod to go to the Otter rod locker. No more twisted lines. One of the better investments!

Yup, A Friend did me a favor and pulled my gear off the ice with his snow mobile.  :) Problem was that when he went through the woods, my sled was upside down.  There was more gear broken than not also lost.  :P That made it a whole lot easier for my family to buy for me at Christmas time.  ;D

That is one nice job.   I really like the fact that you integrated the lantern into the box. Everything seems to have its place on hangers inside the box. Very nicely thought out.

What are the slits in the wood for toward the front of the box into the lantern compartment?  Did you put anything in with the lantern to steady it as your pulling so it doesn't tip and break the mantels?
