Nice job. Maybe next year I’ll finally pull a whole limit thru ice. Then again if it goes to 5 who knows. Lol
Keep getting em guys.

Nice work on all the success guys. I'm thinking about heading out there Saturday morning and would like to brig my wheeler. Was thinking about going out of apps or Taft can canyone tell me how the access looks? I know.some places are getting iffy for wheeler access.

Travel should be great for a wheeler on Saturday. I would assume both Apps and Taft are fine for access.

I have not seen anything iffy yet and where I get on is the first to get bad.

Thanks reeleyz. Now if I can just find some eyes.  I only make it out a few times a season as I spend most of my free time on lake george jigging lakers. This will be. my 3rd trip this year and I have had a terrible time finding keeper eyes. Lots of jumbo though to make the trips well worth it. Hopefully with the wheeler I can get away from the crowds and do some more searching.

Fished today out from Godfrey.. marked the most fish I've ever seen on Oneida all morning but couldn't BUY a bite.. was very frustrating, normally i struggle to find them but when I do I can get at least a handful to commit.. not today... fished the first drop, made a few moves and ended up out at the 2nd drop in about 35 fow. Threw every lure in the tackle box at em. I know its getting late in the season but any help is appreciated!!

Hate to say it but that’s fishing! Had plenty of those days where it seemed I was fishing in a wasteland. Oneida is a hard lake to figure out. That’s what makes all of us coming back for more. Had some good success yesterday off Lewis switching it up and going shallow (20-18 fow).

I think you are trying too hard.  Take 4 lures, all the same size and color. There, now you don’t have to worry about that.  Turn the vex off once you have found fish . Read a book and jig with the other hand.

Yesterday fished from dark to dark and managed 6 jumbos, two short walleyes but had to really coax them. Today I felt just like you did. Tried literally everything lol. I think the winds played a roll today. I did manage another 5 jumbos today but thought the fishing was really tough. One thing that helped me get bite both days was jigging higher in the water column. Jigging close to the bottom the fish would just stare at it and then go hug bottom. I think the more aggressive fish liked it up higher. Frustrating I know.....and that’s fishing. Here for a few more days. I’ll give er another go tomorrow. Good luck to you if ya get back out!
