Rarely Fished pond any tips?
« on: Jan 24, 2019, 02:23 PM »
I am heading out to fish a rarely fished private pond with a friend sunday. He said there is crappie, bluegill, bass and walleye but he says he's never caught anything thru the ice. We are planning to fish out of 25ish feet of water and are wondering what to use since last time he caught nothing with tungsten jig and waxies. Any tips that could help me and a friend out?

This sounds very similar to a pond I used to fish over there... Crappies consistently cruised the deeper areas suspended 10-15' off bottom and Bass hugging the bottom all over. I used a small tungsten jig with a plastic. Use a something rattles to get them interested if you can't locate them.

I love ponds and the way I drill is a large cross starting at the dam to where I think the creek channel is. Then about 1/3 the distance from the dam I drill from shoreline to shoreline. Then I just start graphing until I mark fish. Have a smalls rod and a bigger fish rod. Then see how they react. Once and area, depth range has been established swiss cheese it!

Thank you Lord for thinkin bout me. I'm alive and doin fine!!!!!!
