depending on the bite but i us ethier 4 or 6 some guys go liter then that i just cant seem to tie hair like line to my jigs.,when it windy out birds nest here it comes.bill

Berkley Triline Micro Ice 4lb Clear Steel. Comes in a silver package with Crappie's on it. Best ice line i've ever used!

Four pound test for deeper water and heavier lures, and 2 pound for lighter lures like shrimpos, ratsos, and nuclear ants. I think clear, limp mono or fluorocarbon are the best. On two pound test you just have to tread carefully if you hook a crappie over a pound or so. I even know some guys who use one pound test.

2-6 lb depending on situation. ;D I am trying a new secret line for panfish and will post results and recommendations after the upcoming ice season :tipup:
