Great East Lake Conditions
« on: Mar 02, 2017, 03:39 PM »
Does anyone know the ice condition on Great East?  Looking to access from the north.  Was there last weekend and it was open along the shore.  Hoping the cold weather coming up will lock it up again.

I was there Thursday morning and everything had firmed up from the slushy weekend. The edges of some of the ponds I drove by were tough. The north shore with the sun beating on it my be tougher then were I accessed. This cold should firm it up though. Be careful around any inlets but the ice looked good where I was.

Thanks for the info.  Any suggestions for "safe" access.  not looking for spots just never fished GE and wanted to give it a try.
