Slow day but good to get out

Got to the lake this morning around 6:30, most of the ice was scary glare and creepers were a must. Set the Bayrunner on 5" of pretty clear ice with a couple of the deeper traps on 3 1/2"-4" but the ice over deeper water was real nice, very clear. Had a few flags pop while I was setting up so I figured I was in for a busy day but after a few Yellows and a couple small Bass the trap action fizzled out. Jigging was slow but steady all day, mostly all Yellows on micro tungsten jigs tipped with mousies. Also had a big slime dart steal one of the new $9.50 Salmo Micro Darters I bought yesterday... seen a big mark on the sonar and tried to get the tiny Darter out of the water to drop down a Flutterfish on heavier line but it was to late and he made quick work of the 2 pound micro ice line right at the hole. It sure was nice to get out full scale with all the gear, I got out a couple times during the first cold snap a few weeks ago but it was just with a spud, a rod, and a high pucker factor, not really fun. But now... It's on. I'm thinking the bite should be good tomorrow as the storm moves in and the pressure drops. Took a few pics... of small fish lol.

CD, I left Jezzabelle at home today... I felt so bad as she gave me the beagle eyes while I closed the door on her this morning but I'd hate to see her slip and smack her chin on the ice or hurt her back... need the ice to be a little rough or a bit of snow for her. Tomorrow night should take care of that.

Its always good to be on the ice. I am jealous. It seems the winters go by way to fast. Thankfully Im going all weekend to get my fix. Good luck this weekend.

Nice stealth ...we got into some crazy snow squalls yesterday morning ...heard they caused some issues on the highway...glad you had fun...there was a time yesterday where the ice was settling and it made me pucker for sure...side note...crushed the bass yesterday...no Giants

My pup knows it's getting to be that time.  I was getting my equipment ready and she needed to be there with me.  I agree though Stealth hate to have her slide a leg into a hole as well.  Next weekend!
