Top 3 walleye lures
« on: Dec 05, 2018, 09:14 PM »
What is your top three lures for jigging walleye? I’m new to the ice fishing game. I just bought an assortment of jigging raps, vmc tingler spoons, tumbler spoons, slender spoons, rattle spoons, ripping raps, and slab raps. I hope I am on the right track.

All the ones you listed will work well, but I would just get some regular standup or slow poke  1/8oz. jigs, these can be the best when then bite is slow, slowly jig and let them sit right on the bottom for a few minutes with no movement at all sometime. I also use rattle spoons and chubby darters for a more aggressive bite.

Around here the best are. Blade baits (vibe, vibrato, sonar) , jigging Rap minnow or shad, and rattle spoons tipped with minnow head.  Lures you picked will all work, good luck this season

I have all kinds of different jig heads as well which will come in handy. I am headed to Bismarck soon and will pick up some blade baits. I see the IDO guys have good luck going after bigger walleye with blades. Thanks for the input guys. Tight lines

Moonshine Jigging Spoon, 1/2 oz. - glow on these work very well
Captain Jays Blade Bait - use them early/late ice

Cant forget about the Buckshot spoons from Northland. Between those, Slender Spoons (1/8oz usually) and jigging raps, those would be mine. A close 4th would be a 1/8oz jig head with a full minnow
