Well that was fun while it lasted.

Ended up dragging out the permanent shanty yesterday after finding a spotty six inches of ice.  Going to pull it back off here in a bit. Got an evening and a morning out of it. Yesterday produced a rock bass and a 23 inch northern on a tip up. Today was a little more productive. Ended up with 3 pike. The 29 and 27 inch came off flags and the 25 inch came into the new decoy I picked up and put some steel through her. Also had about a 18" northern come into the deke and saw a dogfish skim the outside of the hole.  Always love checkin out what these girls have been eating!

Dragged out your permanent for what...2 or 3 days?  That shows some dedication to the sport!  Nice batch of pike to make it worthwhile.  I'm just hoping the rain later this week doesn't screw things up as much as I'm afraid it will.

Actually got it on ice and set up at 1:30 pm yesterday and removed it at 3:00 today! Guess I can at least say I got it out this year. I'm thinking the warmup is going to screw us royally. The existing crap ice will open right up and the wind will take out the remainder.

Just got done with one of the pike for dinner.
Holy ka pow this is a good baked pike recipe!!!! I could eat this for breakfast! It's a bummer that the wife is sick. I had to eat this all by myself ;)

I was in the shapell.  If I would have know that was you, I would have come over. Might as well bs, the fishing was horrible that night. Oh well, its better than sitting inside  ;D

Next time stop on in. Fishing WAS slow. We had one small pike come through the hole and then caught it about 10 seconds later on- a close by tipup. Saw a dogfish and caught a rock bass. Lol.

Yep.. besides eating them that's my favorite thing to do... Kids love it too.. heck sometimes they dont even want to wait until we get home to see whats in their belly...lol
