Well I we ended up going to Chico for the 24th and 25th and ice fished Daily Lk both days.  We got a late start fishing on Mon. but still ended up with 7 perch from 8- 11in and on Tue we fished from about 11 to dark and caught 10 perch and lost a walleye at the hole  :%$#!:  We were in 20' of water and the ice was 6" and the wind was very refreshing ;)  There was one other guy out fishing hopefully he had better luck...

Thanks for the update.  I'll be at Daily President's day weekend.

Watch this lake real close, can open up at any time and then refreze thus the thin ice. Know a couple of guys that went for a dip, thick ice where they were drilling holes and 24 inches away, 2" of ice. Becareful.

i live in bozeman and we have been talking about fishing daily for a few weeks now.  didn't know anything about the unsafe ice conditions.  and tips on areas of the lake to stay away from or use extra caution on.
