Who all are going to be out fishing in the derby this weekend.

We are planning on it, just need to dig the camper out since the county plowed the snow right in front of the drive again.

So the ice races are going on Saturday this weekend up in poison creek bay as well. So lots of activities going on. Good luck we will be out with the Grey viper camper and Grey truck and silver jeep. Maybe see some out there.

If you are just going fishing, this might not be the best weekend, unless you want to hang out with a bunch of folks.  Last year it looked like tent cities on the usual spots.  But it was really nice and easy conditions...

Thanks, yeah I thought about going a different time but I primarily get to ice fish weekends and already have commitments most weekends this winter.

Not seeing as many people out here this year, but fishing a new spot for the derby and not sure if as many fish down on this end of the lake. Got about 3 other campers that are around me and see one hut way down towards the middle of the lake.

This is where, I always say, you might as well just enter the derby! For the extra $40 or whatever it is, it makes fishing more fun and if you don’t enter, you’ll catch the biggest walleye if your life 😂

if you pay the 40$ you don't catch squat! That's gas money home!  I'll take the big fish any day!

The entry is only 10 bucks, have one trout weighed in so far, missed a couple other flags, see some more people working their way out and setting up.

All I have heard was from the game warden and said not many fish weighed in and not as many fishing the derby as the years past as they can tell.

Not a big fish year for Boysen. Maybe all those trout are having a negative impact??

Can’t believe I missed this whole topic. I too was at the Derby. We did all the plaques for the winners and kids awards. I’m a board member for WYO Hunters & Fisherman.

It indeed was a very slow year this year. The 28” of ice didn’t help much either but at least it was clean ice.
