Be Safe! Never fished it. Have fished Thousand Island quite a bit and the Crystal Falls area.
Good luck! Let us know how you do.

DIY and little guidance from mike at the bait shop (nice guy) just for couple days to break up the drive headed to fish North Dakota, lake Sakakawea. Why not stop and give it a go! Lol

Well… no Gogebic. We got there and you could fish the bay but it’s weedy. So we moved on 6  more hours (total drive between snow and sob Duluth…14.5 hr drive) and we are at leech lake MN for day or two (give my ass a rest) Reeds sports is like next door to our hotel ) From there headed to lake sakakawea for 3-4 days. (My wife has family there)
It’s pretty freaking cold here lol. On way last night we had 1 degree (big change from Michigan) lol

Sorry  to  hear about the Bay

I usually fish the bay off of the Walleye Lodge (just walk out from the lodge)  Water is usually 7 -8 ft deep. Morning bite was always better than night using sucker minnows on tip ups. Odd but I've always had better luck with tip ups than jigging.

My bait always catches fish...or dies trying.

Fished Gogebic fall of 2021. Local guides & fisherman are very frustrated with the DNR for not managing the walleye population correctly. Walleye numbers are WAY down. Perch should still be ok though.
If you’re not fishin, you’re wishin.
