i think they usualy set them around 18 feet.
You can get a good look at a steak by sticking your head up a bull's a$$, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it??

probably going to be more focused on the kids than actually fishing for myself! ;)

Hello every one I'm new to Ice shanty and I am looking forward to being on it.
I have been told that Sandy Pond is a good place to go on the ice. But I have never been there, where is a good place to access the pond ???
Thanks

"wig wam" sandy pond steak house area, elms golf course area, or greenpoint. Each area has a parking/access fee of $5 I believe. Maybe $7. If you look at google maps you will see each area. I put them southern point first.

As Boggey said paid parking.

At the Steakhouse there's a Garage next to the parking lot with door facing the street, slot in the door, & box next to it with envelopes.

At the Elms same setup at the small building on your right 1/2way down to the water on your right.

Greene Point walk up to door of marina.

PS see once and awhile I'm not a smart az  ;D

Thanks for the map bcons! I've lived in the Adams area for most of my 44yrs but never fished sandy pond. Just getting back into ice fishing after 20+ years and that map will come in handy.
Hope to take the family out this weekend

Tom

Heading down this Saturday with the kids, been fishing a lot of slow spots lately and want to get the kids into a decent bite. Them catching a bunch of dinks and chasing some flags would be great, if we found some keepers even better. I've never fished sandy pond before and need pointed in the right direction, we will be walking so the shorter the drag the better for the kids. Any help is appreciated.

I am sorry I did not relay that to you Chris. You were busy when Mr. Dial came over and announced he was opening the Steak House again for next years tournament and would help us all he can. I will give Mr. Dial all the information to join us here on IceShanty, hopefully as a sponsor. It will be nice to have the restaurant open again next year. ADK, give me a one time pass on this and I will follow through to get him signed up as a sponsor. I still have the information you gave me last year for the previous owner who did not pull the trigger.

Boggey, His last name is Dash not Dial.. Just an fyi. His first name is Steve.

Well lets see, to find dinks to occupy the kids on the pond?   Spin around in a circle 5 times fast with your eyes closed.  Walk which ever direction you can when done.  Drill hole, catch dinks.

All 3 access spots you can fish within a few hundred yards of the beach and catch fish.
Good luck
