Do those ponds have eyes in them?  :P  Someone told me there is so much sand in the ice that you need your auger sharpened every trip?

There are some eyes around Phil, but not alot of them. Ive never had an issue with sand in the ice or dull auger blades. Never heard that before. Cheeks out!!! @)

Chris
How are you doing bud? How did you do over at Irondequoit last month? I tried to get some info from rg for you. Anyway, about the water level in the pond. I greatly fear it is going to be much similar to last year. Per our last PM, I haven't announced to the general ice fishing community til now, but the Sandy Pond Steak House (Wig-Wam ) has closed. That won't however have any effect on the tournament  I am in conversation with several entities to host the tournament this year. After Saturday meeting I will be able to give you and the Pennsylvania Deaf Bass Angler Committee a couple of choices. I hate to do our business online , but most people already know the Steak House has closed and were asking me about it. Thought I should get it out in the open. I will PM you with the options on Sunday next. We will have to redo the flyers and the notify the Oswego County Tourism web site. All that being said, I am looking forward to a great season this year. I have my 4-wheeler  back and can cover more more ice and faster, not to mention drag the fixed shanty out and back.
To DD, I was thinking of retiring this year and releasing your contract to another partner, but I have recovered well from my last operation and I am feeling a whole lot better and I reretired from work again and will have lots of wistful hours to sit and contemplate my navel as I set in my warm shanty dragging up them leviathans from the deep (13') that is depending on how low the water is in the pond this year. So, I will get as early a start as the ice will allow and start scouting the, ahem, rim for our secret location this year.      Just a quick note, Eddy and I won the tournament "Old School " last year. We walked to our location "Honey Hole" dragged our sled and gear by hand and Eddy's vex was broken, so enough about have to have all those gadgets and gimmicks. For you newbies, a pole,a pail to set on an auger and some bait and a little leg power will get you where you want to go. As usual, I will be looking for some week day fishing partners so keep in touch and I am still waiting for that invitation from Snagger to fish Oneida lake this year.
I won't be posting much in the next few weeks cause I still don't have my deer yet, however that could change with one shot. Tite lines every one.

             Hi Boggey
Last sat,  We caught 119 perch range 10 to 15 inches in I Bay and big pike also and went to sodus bay to scout around and  two ole mule guys caught 100 perch nice size  on off eagle island from 38 ft to 42ft.  I will heard from boggery to find a place for registration and weigh in station.   ps. I noticed sodus bay drop 3 ft water low water.

As someone who has sat on a bucket with Boggey I'm not afraid to say he is way more man than I. I will be nestled in my shanty watching tv with my vex and heat on full force. Yes I'll admit  I'm weak!!!!

In my own opinion the pond walleye numbers are on the rebound but its no Oneida I like to encourage catch and release on pond walleye so the population can come back I saw some real monsters in my spring crappie spot this year

they did a new process this year all the sand from the channel was trucked to sandy island beach so as of last wednesday the channel was still in pretty nice shape for this time of year
