I fished green point last night and we were loosing ice, but still very solid. I went back today (5:45) and it said no ice fishing?  I drove down and did not see anyone else out so I left.
I went to south side and caught a few decent perch, but left at dark with the wind almost blowing me across the pond.   I'm ready to take the boat out.   ;)

we were the ones in between there and the boat thats stuck in the ice.... had 15 tip ups out. brown shappel two man. had all but two set up for pike couldnt imagine setting up more than two or three for perch. the two we had set up were keeping us more than busy enough. could hardly jig. too bad about the ice cause they were biting like crazy. we got into some 11's and 12's the day before and in decent quantities too.

Yes alot of 10's and 11's both days.  The perch bite was on fire.   I had all 5 set for perch and really did not have time to jig much throughout the day.    Usually if I would catch a nice one I would leave the tip up out of the hole and jig there for a  bit.    Towards the end of the day though the bite changed from hitting to barely tapping and just sitting there and then jigging produced and the tip ups had slown down.

EDIT I bet that shanty went through today

Eddy, Sorry to hearyYour lovely Lisa. Has THE SICKY POOS.  As she is a great joy to you, I hope you know Rita and I enjoy her presence as well. (The greatest wedding soup maker in the world).  You missed a great day.
Tommy boy, it sounds like you had the same kind of day I have when you try to bring my family and friends together. I waited till 8:00 , my son and I trekked out to the " Honey hole ". Now, tongue in cheek (TIC),  the reason we went in from the Elms is it is down hill from the Elms and uphill from the Steak house. While the honey hole is actually equidistant from either access port it is easier and faster to get there from the higher ground, albeit it is harder going back up hill., I chose to get there faster and damned the consequence of the up hill battle going back in. End of TIC. My grand daughter had a last minute sleep over with 2 schoolmates, which trumped grandpas promise of lots of fishing , grilled hamburgs, hot dogs, chips and coke.
And the high point of the day, I got to spend some man time with my eldest son, absent the grand kids. Realizing our collaborative efforts to do and be all things  to our children . it was a welcome moment for both our us only briefly interrupted by phone calls reminding him of his evening calender. ( I hate those cell phones). In closing, while we reestablished that father son  bond thing and told each other we loved the other, we also caught  enough perch for our next family fish fry . All in all not a bad day on the ice I would say.
When and Where is this being served!??? :woot: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

How is the perch fishing at Sandy Pond right after ice out ? Is there any shore fishing spots?  I do have a boat so I'm interested in both. Thanx ahead of time for the 411.

I was actually at green point on saturday and water was up from last winter.   I would say average for this time of year.   Just got a bunch of gills
