Where the heck do you PA guys find places to ice fish. Are you up in the mountains? Bigbuck is showing me some king sized crappy in his emails as well. .
Jim, yes we are in the mountains...Jerimiah Johnson and Zeb McCahon live here :woot:  There were some spots that were ok last week...I haven't looked today yet but there can't be much...if any...ice left on most ponds.  I didn't make it out last week but did check a pond last Sunday...maybe 3" of white...not good for me.

Boggey, thanks for the heads up. Its nice to get some close-to-realtime updates on the ice.  Too bad you forgot the camera, that really would have made a statement.  Temps here in Rochester aren't looking good until later in the week hopefully a bit cooler at the Pond.  At this point I almost wish I never shut my water off in my camp.  Someone should bring Al Gore out on the pond to see the trouble he invented.  Maybe I should have my kids call HIM and bug him about not having enough ice.  Be safe!

Not an Al Gore fan however if you're telling me that we all remember 20 or 30 yrs ago when the ice was 12 -15 " by now and were driving vehicles onto the ice and now we will be lucky to have ice by the end of June I would have to say that Climate change is real. Why that is I do not know but we don't have ice and that seems to be a trend not an anomaly.

Global warming/climate change/weather pattern changes have been here LONG before we got here and they will keep on going...for many reasons...not just what Gore and others tell us...and it all won't be fixed by what they are telling us we should do.  Whatever happens, we just have to make the best of it...there are no magic wands.

Xc,
The Eastern PA Deaf Bass Fishermen use this tournament to provide seed money for their own in house tournament for there members only tournament.  These guys (BigBuck and Vince ) work there tails off and put on a great tournament to promote the greater icefishing community and to promote their organization serving not only PA members but parts of New Jersey and New Yoyk as well. Anything we can do to assisst them and the work they do with in there organization is greatly appreciated and worthwhile. Hope you will grab a partner and try to beat me and Drowndin Dots who plan on taking first place.

Thanks Boggery1  yes it s correct....  ;) ;) ;)  let s go  :icefish: :icefish:

Yup perchpounder.
That was me. I was drillin holes on my way out and I stayed on the black ice. I was pretty comfortable on the way out, but noticed how fast the ice was deteriorating, as i said it was a scary walk back in. I noticed you were a little smarter than me and left the ice about half an hour before me. As I said that was my first case of stupit this year. Did you guys do any better than I did?  I was getting on the pike pretty serious.

No we did terrible.....  Got one   dink and a few bites.   Did catch a pretty good buzz though. ;D  I live in fulton so give me a shout if you are looking for someone to fish with.

If it'll lock backup during todays falling temps thru sat. morning then sat warmup won't hurt, won't help either but....
This arctic blast is supposed to last a week,  down in the city temps in low teens during the day & low singles @ nite.
The pond will be 5-10 colder than that!
Supposed to blow nasty on sunday as the front moves through, that should keep lake effect from getting too organized & any that does fall will get blown off.
Most promising forecast we could ask for.
