after  that  thaw  i'd  use  a  spud  bar  on  the  way  out!  and  drill  a  few  holes  .... i  wear  artic  armor  but  have  a  pfd  and  rope  in my  shanty ....  i  know   that  ice  was  a  little  funky  when i  got  off  ,  asking  others   if  ice  is    safe  is  like  asking if  a  gun is  loaded ,  you  check  for  yourself  ....  walk  with  the  spud

I have to think there will be a bunch of people at the pond this weekend so if you are questioning safety, just wait for some others to go out first. i would think the steakhouse (Wigwam) would be your best bet.
