Good deal. 2.5inches is ok with me. I just won't go out with full gear and my shanty.  bucket, pole and auger only. ;D
How about ice picks, a rope, life jacket, cell phone and a buddie, maybe your floaties, oh and a hovercraft.

Snagger I sent you a PM. I'm not posting pics up until I've been on the ice myself and make sure it's safe but at least you'll know where I got the pics.

I used to be a regular there til the canadians killed all the walleye with the lampricide, I'd show up at wig wams 2-3 hours before dark, walk out maybe 2-4 shanties most days, and get 5 or 8 eyes, usually 2 or 3 keepers, haven't been in a while but i here theres more people than that now and alot less eyes..

I caught some on the South Pond this Summer...didn't fish very hard for them...I heard you were the best of the best for eyes SNAG...I have never caught one through the ice...I have never targeted them...I did break one of, good one too two years ago at Chaumont...Maybe I'll get lucky on the S. Pond this winter and get a couple...

on some nights this summer you could hear the eyes popping the top of the water. I love that sound. not a lot of them on pond though.

Shine a light along the Shore of the South Pond in the Spring and you'll think a little different but definitely not recovered from the die off a few years ago...

I'm by know means the best, not even close... just enjoy doing it, to get eyes at the pond, stop targeting the perch and disipline yourself to go reel big last hour and into the dark, most times nothing these days probably, but those blitzs were awesome in the mid 2000's.....

Roll the dice bud. With the warm weather and threat of rain the ice might be in trouble.
