Sandy Pond has about an inch and half of good ice on it right now (measured at Greene Point).  We'll see what happens, but I'd like to see a bit more before I head out there.

First time I was on the pond last yr it was about 2 inches. Sketchy but loved drilling holes, lol

Hello fellow Sandy Ponders   Thought I would chime in here on this thread..  I went up to the Pond yesterday afternoon and took a look at the ice  from the Sandy Pond Steakhouse ( Wigwam)  A couple of guys were there drilling test holes .  They werent any more than 50 yards or so offshore.. I  went out and talked to them .  basically the ice up there looks like ice cubes joined together by VERY thin ice.   So ... It looks like it's still a No go there for now..  See you there when the ponds not bare...

The way I see it is test it yourself b/c no one in their right mind is going to post up here that it is safe b/c then there will be 2 million guys on it, lol.
