! what the heck happened !

Can anyone tell me what kind of trout this is !? I don't do much fishing for trout or anything other than bass in the open water ! I caught this weird looking trout on a 12" black/grape Berkley power worm ,with a 3/0 hook on 17 lb flurocarbon leader connected to 20 lb. Braid with a blood knot ! Not something you see every day !? You can see the worm on the ground .

Yes ,thrown back ! No it was Fischerville , down river from Ripple . I think it a crash helmet dummie fish lol

I have seen some Rainbow trout like that before. Does the state or a private group stock the area with Rainbow trout?

In Missouri, where I am from, they have spring fed streams/rivers that they stock with rainbows. The state raises them in concrete rearing pools. While they are growing the bows will rub up against the walls and floor of the pool. When they do that they start showing deformations on the fins and on the tip of the upper jaw.

Yea I've seen a few fish caught like that. Probably why he ate that worm. Probably has issues hunting down food!

i caught this on a similar set up, about 12 noon in july... But yes most definitly a rainbow trout

Truck bow....yup.  Some don't do so well in the tanks and has a messed up tail like most of the stocked salmon as well.
