$100 mistake

Wow can't believe I'm making my first post of the season!

Well I ordered my new cutting head for my nils auger yesterday!  100 bucks with shipping form red rock!  Brand new nils 8 inch auger last season and the thing is awesome........except the last trip of the year I mis read the depth map with my brother and thought I ws standing over 10 FOW but ended up drilling over the top of a hump that was only 8 inches down!  Yeah hit the gravel and ruined the blade!  That was a hundred dollar mistake but I'm ahead of the game and have a new one on the way!  Now to put the Harley in storage and get the gear out of the garage and start going through it!!!!  Yes.......praying for an early start!

Thanks......I thought about getting it sharpened........heard they are never the same as they are when new though.  Might try to sharpen the old one after the replacement comes in.......can't hurt to have a spare.

The new cutting head arrived from red rock today!  You guys that did a pre buy for nils equipment should see them coming soon!

That is bad, especially its a Nils. I fish over 20 or more feet of water.

if you are new Burlington I will sharpen it for you and see how it comes out... I'm a automotive machinist/ engine builder. I have to sharpen cutting tools and all kinds of stuff all the time. I can probably sharpen it pretty nicely.

if anyone wants me to give it a shot and sharpen their blades on their auger lmk.

I just got a new nils blade from them also!! Nothing worse than a dull blade.!!
I figure my existing blade will be good till mid-season at least, i can send it out,
put the new one on, and not skip a beat!!!! ;D ;D   KK
