"Dead" C
« on: Jan 26, 2011, 07:47 AM »
I grew up across the street from Cochituate North Pond and (gasp) have never fished it in the winter. I'm thinking of trying that shallow cove over near the army labs this weekend. Anyone know where I can park over there or does anyone want to join me? ??? Maybe there are better spots? Thanks

Dave

you can or you used to be able to get on the cove just before the army testing labs gate, I think the street is Kansas St. you have to go down a steep hill.
I think you would have better luck and much better access from middle pond boat ramp.
The place is slow fishing for sure

thanks for the tip. i usually fish dudley pond or heard pond nearby, but would at least like to fish cochituate once. although i dont go for salmon or pike so maybe i should stick with the other ponds

The street is Kansas street.  The Army property is all fenced off and unless you have a DOD ID you can't get in and the fence keeps you off the ice anyway.  There is not a lot of parking on Kansas street and the boat ramp is a much smarter bet.
