salmon eggs for trout

I have a bunch of cured salmon eggs and was wondering if anyone has tried them on tipups for trout or any other species for that matter.That is to mean tied in egg sacs.

In Alaska, salmon eggs are at the top of the list for bait. Rainbows, Dolly Varden, lake trout, butbot etc. love cured salmon eggs. I would definitely try them. All species of fish know what eggs are and that they are packed full of protein.

My kids been hammering trout on eggs under a tip up. set it 3ft under ice. Been really aggressive takes as well. Even had one chase the egg up the hole last weekend. size 10 baitholder hook on flouro leader. I have use single and double on eggs.  both ways produced

yep. right on the bottom, stick the sack on a jig head doesn't seem to matter or try your patience and free lining it down there
