First Brook

Hey guys I read though a few fourms on trout fishing and first time out I landed this nice brookie (17") I was fishing in 10ft of water right next to a sharp break near a frozen creek. so yeah thanks again for the informative posts.

Brookies are a no brainer.   Fish them shallow on rocky, gravel or sandy bottom.  Close to shore,  when they're butting the action can be fast.  If you get a flag and the baits gone drop another down and give it a few jigs some time you can entice them back to strike same goes if you loose one at the hole.  Some times there's a few swimming in a group and they swipe at your bait as you go to reset your tipup.  Nice chunky female you got.
