Interesting.ive never went turkey hunting because i thought it was a waste of a animal to take just the breast.wild turkey doesnt look anything like a domestic farm bird.theres a huge group out gobblin right now behind the barn.

definitely not a waste!  use a blind and cheap hen decoy and they will entertain you!  if you set there they will surround your blind at close range.  i have had them looking in window at 6ft away. lol stupid birds really.  very neat to just watch and listen to them. the blind makes that possible.  kids and wives dig it too.  if you know where they roost its easy as it gets to set up close before dawn.  they will fly rite down to decoy with very little calling.

breakfast was ramps bacon eggs and toms hart. ;D

Cooked up some brown trout from yesterdays haul. Good stuff.

Also, filleted and attempted to debone a 15 inch fallfish I caught. Seasoned 1/2 with blacked seasoning, and the other half was coated in seasoned bread crumbs. Pan fried all in butter with some lemon juice added. Fallfish was OK, bread crumbs was better than blackened spice as I expected.

Only downside was another set of pin bones around the tail end that I wasn't aware if. This, after losing most of the fished to long and thick ribcage, and long set of pin bones running through the top. Basically, I got more boneless meat of a 9 inch trout, than a 15 inch fallfish.

Live and learn :)

I'm not much of a canned fish person. I do marinate/cure salmon and trout, but prefer white flesh fish pan fried above anything else. I don't mind spending time to debone them, but I think I can probably get more flesh off a 20 inch pike than a 20 inch fallfish, and they very rarely hit that size. At least I can say I tried :)

Yes, we were fishing for brown trout in strong current, thought I had a big brown on the line until I saw it.
