Helix updating question

So I converted my dads helix over to ice fishing. He bought the conversion kit from fleet farm. He has a helix 7 chirp g2n. Basic model. Anyway I got it converted and realized the software was out of date. I updated it and now he doesn’t have a classic flasher screen available. It’s not under settings anywhere, it’s not hidden. I told him he’d probably just use the graph screen anyway but can’t figure out why it would have disappeared.

When you come to the startup screen where it shows the software version and warnings page, hit menu and it should give you the option to put you unit in open water, ice or simulator mode.  See if that works.

There should be a view button hit that and scroll through the menus should be there. At least it is on my Helix 5. Good luck!

You might have to select the correct transducer in order for it to show as well.

Hit the menu twice, go to sonar and scroll down, you will see a option to select ice mode.
You unit will restart in ice fishing mode.

When I updated my Helix 7 I couldn't find the ice fishing mode. I went into demo mode, scrolled to ice mode and got it to work in demo mode. After doing that I had ice mode in the sonar menu. I have no idea why that worked for me.
