Life is good - Ice fishing for a week at the cabin
« on: Feb 07, 2020, 03:49 PM »
Everything is ready.  Outhouse is cleaned. Woodstove is humming.
Snowdog is running well. 4 five gallon buckets of water from the lake for dishes, etc..
Clear skies and -10 tonight.
Slush is being vanquished to a bad memory.

Life is GOOD! (and still praying for IceJohn - May God bless you!)

Sterling, Ontario is a heck of a drive to the Gunflint Trail (50 miles from Thunder Bay). Lots of great fishing for you closer than that.

I'm 5 years or so away from retirement and I think about it almost every day.  That place looks heavenly to me. Enjoy it Gunny!

We've had 20 inches or so of snow dumped on my favorite Laker water here in the last 24 hours.  That slush is gonna be hell!

Life IS good, GF.  Nice to see you enjoying it to the fullest.  Since I've only been on THIS forum for a short while, I didn't notice it before - Veritas Odium Parit - but i couldn't agree more; ESPECIALLY on political forums.  Have a GREAT week at the 'Cabin' and please keep us update on your adventure this coming week.

Great day today. Limited on lake trout. Snowdogged with my buddy to the BWCA and then trudged an hour to where we fished. Life is good.

I have to ask - why did you 'trudge' from the BWCA (whatever that is) to where you fished?  Also, what are the 2 screen units in the last picture?  I'm guessing the left unit is a type of sonar and the right unit is an underwater camera screen.  Well done on the trout.

My friend had to leave today so I took out the Clam X300 for a couple hours. Saw lots of deep fish (65 feet) but couldn’t get them to bite. Tomorrow will trudge again and hope to have great camera sun. Nothing beats camera fishing in good conditions.

Went trudging. -12 when I got going in the morning.

Super fun day. Saw fish all day long. Camera worked great. Caught limit let some go. Lost 2 large ones at the hole.

Life is good.

The larger one is 3 pounds. I lost two at the hole larger than that.

View from inside the Clam Blazer. I have the Livescope and the AquaVu both going. Super fun.

View from the outside of my one man trudging setup.
